Holy Week and Easter Sunday Schedule

Maundy Thursday - Thursday, April 6

  • Worship with Holy Communion at 7:00 PM

This service will include Holy Communion and the stripping of the altar, and concludes with the cross being brought in; in preparation of Good Friday.

Maundy Thursday Readings: Exodus 12: 1-14; Psalm 116: 1, 10-17; 1 Corinthians 11: 23-26; John 13: 1-17, 31b-35

Good Friday - Friday, April 7

  • Worship at 7:00 PM

This service of reflection will include the Bidding Prayers and the Solemn Reproaches.

Good Friday Readings: Isaiah 52:13-53:12; Hebrews 10:16-25; John 18:1-19:42

Easter Service - Saturday, April 8

  • Easter Worship with Holy Communion at 5:00 PM in Diers Hall
  • Easter Vigil with Holy Communion @ 7:24pm (sunset) at Immanuel Flatville

The Easter Vigil Service with Holy Communion will be held at Immanuel at sundown (7:24pm). Everyone is invited to attend this special service. The Liturgy consists of these parts: 1) the Liturgy of Light, which centers around the Paschal Candle. 2) the Liturgy of the Word, which involves hearing what God has done for His people from the beginning of creation. 3) the Liturgy of Holy Baptism, which incorporates us into salvation's story and new life through the water and the Word. 4) the First Eucharist of the Resurrection. Here the Church is called to the table which the Risen Christ has prepared for us through His death and resurrection. This will include pastors and people from the area congregations. Please plan to join us as we user in the Easter celebration.

Easter Sunrise Readings: Isaiah 25:6-9; 1 Corinthians 15:19-28; Mark 16:1-8
  • Breakfast following Sunrise Service in Diers Hall
  • Worship with Holy Communion at 8:00 AM
  • Sunday School at 9:15 AM
  • Worship with Holy Communion at 10:15 AM

Celebration of Resurrection with Holy Communion at all three services (1 on Saturday & 2 on Sunday morning). 

Easter Day Readings: Acts 10:34-43; Psalm 118: 1-2, 14-24; Colossians 3:1-4; John 20:1-18
